About

This blog records my trip to Berlin for Fashion Week and the art, design and culture I discovered along the way. Berlin was the perfect city for the creative in me, filled with inspiration, overwhelming history and art literally around every corner.

CHEESECAKE FIT FOR A PRINCESS AND TYPOGRAPHY COFFEE

Before heading to Berlin my research had resulted in a huge list of cafes to visit and little else, although my priorities weren't ideal I am glad to have discovered some perfect places when we were in need of a break from the cold.
Princess Cheesecake was first on the list and we tracked it down on our first day, returning for a sugar filled breakfast on our last. I went for white chocolate, rum and coconut cheesecake and white tea - accompanied with a timer to ensure it was brewed perfectly. Little touches in the decoration of both the interior and the cakes made the cafe every girls dream, perfect for our group of fashion students.

We found Babanbe opposite the old post office whilst seeking refuge from the cold before joining our tour. Both a cafe and deli, it had a clear design influence and the typographic wall as we entered had us excitedly taking pictures within minutes in true graphic geek style. Unfortunately we had to hurry our macaroons and get going despite desperately wanting to try the deli also.

We passed Cafe Mitte several times when returning to our hotel and popped in one day for hot chocolate and brownies. The Cafe always appears to be bustling and bursting with people but the servers are quick and friendly and the atmosphere lively.
